Greeting

Since the prehistoric era, ticks have been parasitizing the world, from the human-head sized ticks that parasitize the dinosaurs to the present day ticks that affects both animals and human alike. It has survived evolution because of its great ability to adapt and survive. They could thrive from the subzero temperature in the subartic regions and the heat of the temperate zones. They could live without eating and drinking for a long time, as long as 10 years for some species. Some female species could even reproduce without needing a male counterpart. Massive tick infestation could cause anemia or some anaphylactic reaction to the tick bite site, or even paralysis caused by the toxin in the ticks’s saliva. Aside from these, ticks, like mosquito, could transmit a wide range of zoonotic diseases, in the form of virus, bacteria, and protozoa.
